• Manchester city centre and Salford — flats, communal entrances and leasehold consent.
• Didsbury and Chorlton — period doors worth not ruining.
• Bolton and Bury — street-facing terraces and rented stock.
• Oldham and Rochdale — shared houses, HMOs and fire doors.

Beyond Greater Manchester, across the wider Northwest:

• Liverpool and Merseyside — period buildings converted into flats, and the shared door.
• Preston and Lancashire — older stone property and coastal weather.
• Warrington and Cheshire — new town estates where every door is the same door.
• Altrincham, Sale and Trafford — houses with three or four doors, not one.
• Wigan and Leigh — owner-occupied, and new-build warranty questions.
